This year, The Hungry Bear, Epic Gravel, and Gordon Pine Barrens are launching a new gravel bike series in Northwest Wisconsin in partnership with Borah Teamwear—the Northern Pines Gravel Series. Expect breathtaking views, thoughtfully crafted routes for riders of all levels, and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere that makes race day about more than just the finish line.

Series Information: The 2026 Northern Pines Gravel Series features three exciting gravel races (with even more events planned for 2027):

  • Hungry Bear Gravel – May 9, 2026

  • Epic Gravel - June 7, 2026 (only applies to gravel event)

  • Gordon Pine Barrens – June 13, 2026

How It Works

Sign up at no cost, complete a race at all three events—regardless of distance—and you'll earn an exclusive Northern Pines Gravel Series Trail Sun Hoodie from Borah, crafted locally in Wisconsin. This is the same style worn by CAMBA trail stewards and crew throughout the summer.

Just sign up for the series using the same email you use for all your race registrations. After you complete the Gordon Pine Barrens event, you’ll receive a certificate to access the Borah Gravel Series Store online and select your hoodie size. Hoodies are unisex, and a size chart will be provided to help you find the perfect fit. When you place your order, you can choose to pick up your hoodie at the CAMBA offices in Hayward, Wisconsin, or have it shipped to you free of charge.

No Cost to Be Part of the Series, Just Fun!

2026 Nothern Pines Series Races

Hungry Bear Gravel

Hungry Bear has a route to challenge all riders. Take on the challenge to ride the Hungry Bear 100, race the Snacking Bear 60, or start with the Climbing Cub; all routes give riders a taste of Northern Wisconsin gravel riding and the great communities that make up our Northwoods.

Epic Bike Fest Gravel

Epic Gravel starts right at Mt. Telemark Village (MTV), then challenging climbs and rolling northwest gravel begin! You'll experience some of the iconic Chequamegon Forest features and sights in the Lake Helane and Rock Lake areas. You'll finish up with a downhill sweeper at the foot of the (MTV) Hub.

The love for gravel roads and Gordon's history led to the idea of the Gordon Pine Barrens 50 (GPB50). This gravel event, made by gravel enthusiasts, will give riders a fun, safe, and challenging experience. Most important is learning about Gordon’s history while Giving Back to the Gordon community.

Gordon Pine Barrens Gravel

Take on three gravel races among the towering pines of Wisconsin’s Northwest. These courses are designed to challenge you, with a little bit of everything: scenic, flowing gravel roads, stretches of singletrack, ATV trails, and occasional fast pavement. These are far from your typical Sunday-stroll gravel events. If you’ve been longing for quiet back roads, punchy climbs, and the kind of scenery that rekindles your love for riding, this is your invitation to escape the ordinary to Wisconsin’s Northwest.
